_rug_ doctor, steaming mad at dirt? I’m no accent expert, but the clinic director sounds kind of pinchy-vowell Australian. Isn’t that the country where they invented Nads hair removal, and anal bleaching? There must really be an antipodean antipathy against the human body as-is. ETA: herbal poultices administered transvaginally have been around for eons. The method of application was via the handiest household item - the end of a broomstick. Trivia buffs know this to be the origin of the witch riding one. ---

I saw a Joanna Lumley documentary about women in northern Africa sitting over smoldering acacia boughs to “purify” and perfume their bodies, and especially their hoo-has. This sounds like it took that tiny germ of an idea and went for money, money, money. ---

I didn’t know that. A guy I used to work with would always go up to Sydney for the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and religiously (heh) booked his “back, sack’n’crack” wax for the day before. But hell, inventing anal bleaching? I think I’ll start a campaign to get that onto one of our bank notes next time they get re-designed. Maybe a specially stamped $2 coin would be more appropriate? ---
