# Need advice fast!

yeah we were supposed to write an essay in my lit class at 9 this morning which determines whether we pass or fail the course, anyway I overslept, what should I tell the professor do you think there is any chance she will let me make it up

I would be honest with her. Say that you are sorry and don’t make up any stupid excuses. There is a good chance that she will let you make it up for at least partial credit if you talk to her as soon as possible.

Yep. Throw yourself upon the mercy of the instructor.

The one thing you DO know is that if you don’t ask you’re sure to not pass. So what’s to lose?

I received your message minutes before class began. Today’s essay is  
the exit essay that determines whether or not you pass the class.  
Since I am not sure of the correct protocol, I will have to contact the  
department chair to find out how to handle the problem. I will be in  
touch with you via email as soon as I find out what to do.
