A water spray bottle. Right in the face when you catch him doing the act. A highly useful device! And I just remembered seatbelts. I put that bitter spray on them. Took me until I’d already replaced three. I used the bitter spray there because I didn’t want an undeserving passenger getting chili oil in their eye or something.

Another vote for the crate. He should either be with you and supervised or in the crate. The crate should have plenty of chew toys. The crate is not a punishment; the crate is a combination bedroom and funhouse. I’d advise against the sleeping in bed unless you’re sure you can catch him chewing something he shouldn’t. It has been a huge factor for training our dog - there’s plenty of stuff on the floor that he’s allowed to chew and we are training ourselves not to let anything that he’s not supposed to chew get low enough for him to get at it. Exercise is good, supervision is good, but if he can’t get in trouble when you’re not watching him, he won’t.
