My husband’s birthday is almost upon me and as usual I have no idea what to get him. I don’t really know what I can tell you about him that will help, either. He um…likes working, sleeping, and watching TV. 🙂 If anyone can give me good ideas on what to buy or do for a man’s birthday\*, I would really appreciate it (and I’m sure a lot of other clueless females will file it away for future reference also!) \*less than $100 bucks please! ---

New games for PS or XBox if you know what he likes. Play with him all day. Tickets to a pro game. Tickets to a concert. Sexy night at a hotel (buy a Fredericks of Hollywood outfit) (My ex LOVED this gift) Get him a bunch of CD’s by his favorite artist. ---

Get him a couple of seasons or a series box set of whatever TV show he likes to watch. Get him a tool- doesn’t matter what, guys love tools. Or a gift cert to Home Depot or Lowe’s if you’re really stumped. Get him a couple cases of whatever beer he likes to drink, or bottles of wine/booze. Get yourself some lingerie/toys/rubber wear, and carve out a time and place to show him what you got. And I mean _show_ him. [the best birthday present I ever got was from a then-girlfriend who gave me a card on the morning of my birthday that said “It’s your birthday- use me for your pleasure”. (But this particular one has a couple of caveats: it’s a mechanical “automatic” watch so it’s not as accurate as a quartz watch, and it stops if you don’t wear it for a couple of days. And the design is very close to a Rolex so some people will scoff at it as a knockoff or “fake”. On the other hand, it’s very solid and you can look at the mechanism through the transparent back.) I hate to stereotype, but does he like comic strips? Some of the popular ones, like _Far Side_, _Calvin and Hobbes_ and _Peanuts_, are available as hardcover “complete collections”. The _Far Side_ collection is just under $100. ---

I am taking all ideas (except one) under consideration, but none of them seem to be The One\* just yet. Keep 'em coming, I can always use them at Christmas or next year or whenever I feel obligated to prove my affection. 😉 By the way, his job is managing a group of med lab techs (snore) and he watches a lot of the Comedy Channel. \*I’m gonna \*find \* somebody to give that marshmallow thing to. ---

This might sound silly, but how about taking him to a really good, off the hook restaurant? That’s what my hubby loves - instead of a “thing”, I take him somewhere - like to an outrageously good steak place or something. Know what I mean? Or concert tickets. Or sports tickets. ---

At the moment, I’m kind of leaning toward the massage idea. I don’t know if he’d really be comfortable going to do such a thing, but he does have some of them thar metrosexual tendencies. ---

You can probably buy the whole set for $100… Most men like toys. Would he be interested in a train set, RC car, slot car set, LEGO set, etc? You can adopt a dog for less than $100, but it’d end up costing a lot more in the long run… If you resort to “gift product” type stuff, I think Josh Simpson’s [planets](http://www.megaplanet.com/store/home.php) are pretty. I saw it mentioned in another tread recently and I’m very tempted.
