All along, I thought that inaudible mumbo jumbo in the middle of Suite Judy Blue Eyes by CSN was French. According to lyrics site, it’s Spanish: Que alegria me traiga Cuba La reina de la Mar Caribe Que cielo sol que lo tengan alli Y que triste que no puedo vaya Oh va, oh va, va. Which loosely translates to: What joy Cuba brings to me, The Queen of the Caribbean Sea. What sunny skies they have there, And how sad it is that I cannot go. Oh go, oh go, go. Quick, somebody call the Joint Comittee on Un-American activities! ---

Mary-Chapin Carpenter, _Down at the Twist and Shout_. The version on the compilation disc _Party Girl_ has a whole verse in Cajun French. Also, any number of Louisiana acts, like Buckwheat Zydeco, Terrance Simien, Clifton Chenier, Dr. John, Beausoleil, Jo-El Sonnier, etc., have songs that are all or part in Cajun dialect. ---

Sting’s done a few in addition to the one **Avalonion** mentioned _Hungry For You (J’aurais Toujours Faim De Toi)_ from Ghost in The Machine (as a member of The Police), and he also did a remake of Jaques Brel’s _Ne Me Quite Pas_ ---

What about Peter Gabriel’s “Games without Frontiers?” Also Jeff Buckley did a killer version of “Je n’en connais pas le fin” which I believe was a Nina Simone song, but I could be wrong about that. ---

Golden Earring - Ce Soir. Quite a bit of French (at least I think it’s French). _God_ I think I’m the only person that owns a copy of Golden Earring’s “greatest hits”. Yes, it has more than “the” two songs on it. The only thing stranger than Golden Earring’s “greatest hits” is Mountain’s. I know it has to be more than 12 versions of “Mississippi Queen”, but damned if I know what else would be on there.
