Well, honest except for the spreading of lies and misinformation. Nice, except for the slandering and demonization of people with whom he disagrees.
Harvey Korman, actually.
What, Santa’s Boys?
Can someone please explain the religious significance of the Candycane?
Also, re: the “Jesus is the reason for the season” T-shirts; wasn’t he actually born in September?
Since when has “Thou shalt not bear false witness” been deleted from the Ten Commandments?
I’m not sure what scene you were thinking of, but Gene Wilder was the one consoling the new sheriff about being called an offensive slur, he described the townspeople as simple people, etc… you know, morons.
O’Reilly tried using the same sort of story before…

Bill O’Reilly is making the claim that Saginaw Township officials banned residents from wearing red and green during the holiday season. Local officials say he’s dead wrong.
Syndicated controversial talk show host Bill O’Reilly said on his radio show:
“In Saginaw , Michigan , the township opposes red and green clothing…on Anyone, In Saginaw Township they basically said anybody, we don’t want you wearing red or green. I would dress up from head to toe in red to green if I were in Saginaw Michigan .”
– Bill O’Reilly
I guess he’ll keep recycling it, each time with a different location until he gets away with it. What a scumbag.
O’Reilly and Limbaugh should put Cecil on retainer, considering the amount of work they create for him.
I keep seeing that as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Only an idiot like Bill O’Lielly can associate the colors green and red with a Christian religious significance. Again, who are the people who actually believe that this is a serious issue? Are people actually that dumb?
No, they just need issues and are willing to make as many as they need.
When I was in high school (which was less than a decade ago), we had a red and green DAY, usually the first full day of school before winter break, when you were encouraged (though not required) to wear those colors, like an Xmas version of Crazy Hat Day. And this was not a Christian school either (despite the fact that red and green aren’t even religious and… I’m using too much logic for this), it was public. I know just because my school had such a day doesn’t mean that other schools didn’t ban it, but I just thought I’d throw this out there.
It’s easiest just to assume everything Bill O’Reilly says is a lie until proven otherwise.
The Village? That would be red only, not green.
Now if only the Seattle “Giving Tree” removal story was UL…

Also, the IU professor behind THIS story- doing her part to promote (in Dennis Prager’s words) “antisemitism in America”…

Ho Ho Ho.
ON the other hand, some of my political & religious compatriots… also, WLBs.
William Donohue, Jerry Falwell, and especially Bill O’Reilly- please shut up.
RE the OP- the Plano School District’s aversion to red & green plates & napkins is also pretty damn silly- not as horrible as a ban on attire but petty & stupid & deserving of mockery.
Yes they are. Scary, isn’t it.
[QUOTE=Duck Duck Goose]
And I also once wrote him a four-page letter telling him, very politely, exactly how his proposal to “hire ourselves a black minister in order to do outreach to black folks” was racist. He was VERY shocked and upset that anyone would think he was a racist, called me on the phone, nearly cried (and yes, he used the line “my best friend in college was black”) and the very next Sunday devoted a good part of his sermon to emotionally, and I believe sincerely, disclaiming any imputations of racism. He really does think that “they have a different culture”, etc.

But- based upon what you say here- that’s not racist. Unless you have a different dictionary than I do?
Perhaps you meant to say it was “politcally incorrect” or “could be veiwed by some as racist”?
