# Need Knitting sites/patterns for a beginner

My wife is a fledgling knitter. She’s made a couple of things but it looking for a good online source for information and patters for a beginner.

I know some of you are knitters so I ask you, where would you direct me?

[knitty](http://www.knitty.com) they have patterns for a range of skill levels

[knitting.about.com](http://knitting.about.com/) good basic stitch guides. Some of their patterns have errors, though, so be careful with them.

[The Knitting Community](http://www.livejournal.com/community/knitting/) on LiveJournal. Excellent source of overall discussion and help with knitting questions.
