# Need List of late 60's Legion of Superheros members

Don’t ask why, it’s a long story. But I’d like a list of all LSH members up to the point where Karate kid or Princess Projectra joined, whoever joined later. Also a list of the Legion of Substitute heros is desirable.
Thanks in advance. Your help with this could save a life!

One of the better references was “The Composite Superman”, a story from _World’s Finest_ #142 (June, 1964). Superman Museum custodian Joe Meach is mopping the floor near a collection of statuettes of the Legion of Superheroes when the display case is struck by lightning. It turns out the statuettes were created using some kind of duplicating ray on the LSH members and when given a large bolt of electricty, the statuettes can transfer the member’s powers to anyone standing nearby.
The statuettes included:
(top row) Braniac 5, Chameleon Boy, Saturn Girl, Colossal Boy, Cosmic Boy, Shrinking Violet, Lightning Lad, Mon-El, Matter-Eater Lad, Starboy
(bottom row) Element Lad, Light Lass, Ultra-Boy, Triplicate Girl, Elastic Lad (aka Jimmy Olsen), Bouncing Boy, Invisible Kid, Sun Boy, Phantom Girl, Supergirl

A high-quality Legion cartoon series would be easier to do and would probably have better results (i.e. more bitchin’) since there are way too many characters with diverse origins to shoehorn into a single 2-hour movie.

If they can handle the large and diverse characters that are/were X-men, they can handle the Legion in a movie.
Get the important characters - Brainiac 5, Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy, Chameleon Boy, Lightning Lad, and Matter-Eater Lad (ok, maybe not Matter-Eater Lad) - in the first movie. Add in Karate Kid and Timberwolf for the second. Probably going to need to add another female or two to keep people happy.
I think it would work. A quality cartoon series would be good, too. And a Justice League movie while we’re at it.

Yes, but X-Men origins are easy.
Q: How did they get their powers?
A: They were born with them. Next!
Wolverine is the only character who actually needs some additional detail because his adamantium skeleton is artificial. Magneto’s Holocaust flashback is used to explain his motives, not his powers. Beyond that, origin explanations are scant.
I’d like to see a Legion cartoon with all of the roster appearing in the first episode, followed by episodes that feature on one or a few members, giving time for origin stories and backgrounds and crap like that.

I think Mon-El should have a big part in the movie/cartoon, but that’s just because I like his costume.

Possibly. I think the best format for translation the Legion to action would be as a soap opera. That would allow the producers to start with the origin and a small cast and gradually expand the cast and add complex relationships. It would also introduce super-hero comics to a new demographic.

What about the super pets? The only ones that come to mind are Krypto and Proty, but unless I’m mistaken they were some sort of auxiliary members too.

They were:
Krypto, the superdog
Streaky, the supercat
Comet, the superhorse
Beppo, the supermonkey
And there were two Protys. The first gave up its life to revive Lightning Lad.

Thank you, Bryan. I had forgotten all about the others. I thought Proty was the coolest. Did Streaky belong to Supergirl? I’m drawing a blank on Comet and Beppo as far as whose pets they were.
