I’ve been trying to think about a more descriptive name for the ISIL group than the current choices. Anything that gives them the status of even an aspiring “state” is not something I think they should have. Also, there seems to be political pot shots being taken over whether the group is really Islamic. The reason I’m looking for an idea quickly is that I just heard on CNN that the French are taking to calling the group the Daesh Cutthroats. Apparently Arabs not supporting ISIL call them Daesh which, while not a curse and is merely a shortening of an Arabic phrase, ISIL considers disrespectful and threatens to cut out the tongue of anyone who calls them that. So, kudos to the French for coming up with “Daesh Cutthroats”. But since politicians must have an acronym, “DC” doesn’t quite cut it. CNN is asking people to send in suggestions for a new name so I though I could throw out my ideas and solicit yours. Because if anyone can come up with a good insulting pithy name it’s us dopers. I have been thinking about “PISS” which would stand for Pseudo Islamic Stone-age Sadists or Pseudo Islamic Sadistic Society. I really like the “Pseudo Islamic” part, but I’m thinking that John Kerry may have trouble calling them PISS not matter how much they deserve it. Any ideas fellow dopers? ---
