I am looking for someone in Northern Virginia to make a driveway. I also might be interested in some other concrete-laying work, like for a large shed or sunroom. Can anyone recommend someone reliable and reasonably priced? Thanks ---

I needed my driveway, in Northern Virginia, repaved and ended up hiring the guy with the funny accent who “happened to be working in my neighborhood.” Not recommended. Sorry, I can’t recommend anyone for concrete work but I will be watching this space carefully. ---

Laying concrete is fun and easy. Until it sets up and the Fire Department has to cut it off your pecker with a saw. ---

Do it right. It’ll cost you, but imagine a snow-free drive all winter long. No shoveling, no slipping, no waiting. It’s cheaper when you install from scratch instead of after! I don’t have the money to go all-out on Star Trek-level technology. And, frankly, that Snowmelt stuff would look ridiculous in front of my house, like putting a Porsche hood ornament on my Corolla. And if I were willing just to hire anyone off the street, I would just go to the Home Depot tomorrow morning and take my chances instead of asking here. I want a simple, standard driveway that is well-made by a reasonably priced, reliable service provider.
