Yeah, that’s one of the things that makes my skin crawl the most. I was watching a TNG epsiode (or was it the First Contact movie?) the other night and Picard said something about “in this century, we no longer work for person gain, but for the betterment of humanity”. That cost me my dinner…

All fifteen eps plus extries, for $37.96 from Critics Choice, unless someone has it cheaper than that.
I also pre ordered the first season of Quantum Leap (which I never saw in its TV run, believe it or not), and it should arrive in June.

In _First Contact_, though, Picard’s statement was a setup for his “The line must be drawn HERE!” outburst later (one of my favorite Picard moments ever). The point is made that, no matter the technological differences between the 21st and 24th centuries, and no matter what Picard would like to think, some facets of human nature don’t ever change.
Quite the opposite of how it works on ENT, apparently, although maybe this is all just a setup for an Archer meltdown as well. 😉
