I mean the key - where does the key for your horse go? 😛

We don’t get horses for Stampede. ☹

You should totally start that thread.

Well, they don’t _have_ to…🙂

You guys are spelling n00b wrong. 😃

I’m finding it funny that you constantly come in here just to post that you are above petty annoyances. See the irony here? No? I guess we all have different senses of humor.

If you would bother reading the thread instead of just posting your harpie claptrap, you would see I responded to someone. The quote should have been a hint.

> Now, the only general concept here that would make sense is that the neighbor _values_ having the front of his house unencumbered by a parked car. He then deliberately chooses to deny me that value, by parking his car in front of my house. That choice, even if made using a wacky idea of value, is rude.

My driveway is about 20 feet wide and 40 feet long leading up to the garage and we both have a circular driveway that splits off the main driveway. My neighbor has pretty much the same setup.

When I first moved in, my neighbor used to have his housekeeper park just outside of his sightline (IOW right in front of my house between the entrance and exit to my circular driveway).

I asked him why his housekeeper wasn’t parking in his driveway and he didn’t like having such a crummy car sitting in his driveway. So his answer seemed to be having her park in front of my house. This pissed me off to no end so I told him that I understood what he was saying and I would no longer allow my housekeeper or gardener to park in my driveway.

I had my gardener start parking in front of his house instead of my driveway and my neighbor suggested that my gardener park in front of my other neighbor’s house. The gardener pointed out that these were public streets and before you know it, his housekeeper was allowed to park in their driveway (its like a 30 yard walk to their front door from the front of my house).

My point being that people who park in front of your house when they have empty space in their driveway or in front of their house are just rude fucks who won’t understand how rude they are being unless you are rude to them.

> [@elbows](#):

> Would it bother you if it was a different car everyday? If not, why?

Probably not but I would wonder why there was a steady stream of cars parked in front of my house on an otherwise empty street.

Yes you could assume that everyone ought to be just like you and know exactly what you know, but that’s seems foolishly naive to me.
>
> That’s why we have laws, so there’s no guessing.

Noone is “obligated” to follow the golden rule but it makes you a bit of an asshole if you don’t.

> [@](#):
>
> If I go to the beach and a guy turns up with a machine blasting rap music, yes I would be annoyed. I might even politely ask him to turn it off. But if he refuses, as an adult, knowing the law, I would have to suck it up and just get up and move. Expecting him to know my unwritten rules or abide my interpretation of what’s polite seems utterly ridiculous.

That doesn’t make him any less rude.

> [@elbows](#):

> And what the hell is wrong with your town that mail delivery ceases and garbage pickup is blocked by a legally parked car? That don’t fly in my town.

It is illegal to park in front of a mailbox. There is a reason postal truck driver’s seats are on the right side of the car. Its so the postal carrier doesn’t have to get out of the car. If you block your mailbox, the postal carrier will put a sticky on your mailbox telling you that you can start picking up your mail at the post office.

Same with garbage. If you put out your garbage and people park on both sides of the garbage can, they will cut your service unless you put your garbage in your driveway.

We are talking about an area where everyone has ample room in their driveway to park their cars but they choose to park on the street and they choose to park in front of your house so there are no unsightly cars parked in front of theirs. They deserve no consideration.

That doesn’t negate the fact that you keep coming back here to claim you don’t ever get annoyed at small things, in a way that makes you appear annoyed at people getting annoyed at small things.

> Some people are mature enough to realize that letting little things bother them serves no purpose.

Yes, and it’s wonderful that you posted in this thread to let everyone know of your maturity and awesomeness.

See, a lot of people have immature feelings now and then. They find themselves getting annoyed now and then over little things even though it serves no purpose. They don’t go into a depression over it or get into a murderous rage, they just get a little annoyed.

I am one of these people.

So when you post in this thread, it let’s us know that there is something we can aspire to. We can hope to become a superior person such as yourself who never ever gets annoyed at the little things which annoy us now and then.

What’s also so awesome about you is that you are not afraid that by incessantly trumpeting your own superiority you will come off looking like a douchebag. A lot of superior, awesome people such as yourself try to avoid constantly telling everyone in the world just how awesome and superior they are. They don’t want to look like jackasses.

But you are so confident in your awesomeness and superiority, you have no problem repeatedly telling people how awesome and superior you are even though it makes you look like a total jackass.

So here’s to you! Congratulations on being a superior person! And thank you for letting everyone know the full extent of your awesomeness!

I have a slightly different problem. My neighbor has his frequent guests park in the street instead of his driveway, and they all park at the foot of my driveway so that it is very difficult for me to back out. The entire street could be empty, and usually is, but they always park so that I have to go forward, then back, then forward, then back, in order to get out of the driveway.

Except, and here’s the important difference, you spoke to your neighbors and founds out that they were doing that because they were “rude fucks”. The OP and others simply _assume_ that they are rude fucks, even tho they won’t, you know, actually _talk_ to their neighbor.

Now in my case, I _did_ talk to my neighbor, which did clear up the mystery and now I know my neighbors _aren’t_ rude fucks. Of course, I went in assuming they weren’t.

Well, as someone said upthread, things my neighbors did otherwise led me to believe that they have no real consideration for the rest of us if it impacts their comforts and desires. And, after we started having to park the truck on the street, they suddenly discovered that wow!, they actually could park in front of their own house. After several years of us telling them they needed to move from in front of our house so we could park our trailer, guests, whatever in front of our house.

I have no real idea of why they didn’t want to park in front of their own house, all I can come up with is they planted a bunch of flowers in their boulevard and didn’t want to worry about damaging them with car doors? Not that such a concern kept them from damaging the flowers in pots in our boulevard…:smack:

I don’t share a driveway with my neighbor.

I had lanscapers fix up my lawn and garden when I first moved into my house. Is that some sort of incredible luxury?
