Eddie Izzard has a great routine where he jokes about Armstrong looking off camera and screaming about monsters and being captured. I have no trouble remembering when the moon landing was. My parents watched from the hospital, my birthday was Sunday. I can always tell 1969, sometimes I have to count out to remember how many years ago it was though. I’m 36 freaking years old, how the hell did that happen? ---

You can actually hear Armstrong pause twice during the speech, as if he realizes he made a mistake. Therefore, the first words on the moon would be: “That’s one small step for man…one…oh, shit! I messed up. Can we do it again?” ---
