I beat Mortal Kombat I on Sega Genesis with my eyes closed and with my feet (not at the same time, and on very easy mode). eta: I also went through about a 5 month phase where I would get baked out of my mind every morning and watch like 4 hours of C-Span II. ---

Another nerdy confession: I seem like an easy-going, sort of new age-surfer-dave matthews-style frat boy when I am sober. When I am drunk, I turn into a nitpicky, elitist snob of a music fan. Who will still dance to disco as long as it’s ironic. ---

You know how some moms lovingly save art projects, home made Christmas ornaments, report cards, and childhood toys? And then give those boxes of crap to their bemused adult offspring? Yeah, my mom did, too. I read and tossed most of the written material (love letters from my junior year boyfriend after he joined the Navy, notes passed in class, stupid award certificates, etc.) I kept a couple of report cards, class photos, one token ornament, and gave the beloved toys to my kids to play with/destroy as they see fit. Except for my stuffed Pinky and Brain. Those are on a high shelf, out of harm’s way. And I got them when I was in my mid-twenties, so it’s not like I developed an attachment when I was a tot… ---

I took the Princess to see the Avengers movie last week and then went to see various figurines and other items from Stan Lee’s personal collection. She now wants to read and collect comic books, just like Mom used to. Really embarrassing confession time: I also embarrassed her by going on about how good-looking Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. are. Damn, I hate to see Chris Evans leave, but I love watching him walk away. 🆒(dat ass) ---

You mean there are people just going around, living their lives as if nothing happened? :eek: I bought a bottle of nail polish by a brand I really have no interest in because it is TARDIS blue. TARDIS blue! How can anyone say no to TARDIS blue? 😛 Unfortunately it didn’t come with any of the Nu Who Doctors (nothing wrong with the other Doctors, but I’m guessing they aren’t … hot). I too am still miffed about that whole Caesar thing. Et tu Brute, indeed. Occasionally I want to gather all of the Lincoln scholars into a room and make them come to an agreement on some things. Like how his face was not symmetrical. Everyone has a theory, usually medical. The man was kicked in the face by a horse when he was young. That generally leads to an unsymmetrical face. Really though, could you imagine a room full of Lincoln scholars locked in until certain consensuses were reached? I think … very bad things would end up happening before the doors opened. ---
