It’s a dumb and offensive statement but I don’t think he’ll make a bad Ambassador. Israel is certainly pleased with the pick. And I really do hope that Trump carries through on his pledge to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Other Presidents-Elect have made the same promise only to weasel out of it later when they enter the White House. ---

If he identifies with Israel instead, he’s not doing his job. Fortunately, in the American system, “Ambassador” is a campaign donation reward, so he’s go some leeway for incompetance, but still, not his job to do the job of the Israeli ambassdor to Washington. ---

The guy is a bankruptcy attorney (specifically, Trump’s bankruptcy attorney). Compare his credentials with those of [previous ambassadors to Israel](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Ambassador_to_Israel). ---

He’s wants the Israeli government to rapidly expand settlement constructions, seizure of more West Bank territory, and eviction of Palestinians, which would put him to the right of most of the Likud Party.
