Sorry I wasn’t clear, they eventually decided not to fly her in for in-person interviews, the next candidate was better. I was just amazed&disgusted it was even an option. ---

My boss’s boss (the head of our group) called me up out of the blue to thank me for all my hard work and tell me how much they appreciate what I’m doing. I’m kind of thinking to myself “…uhhh…yeah is there a ‘but’ here like ‘…but we can’t extend your contract’ or '…but we’re going out of business next week,” Apparently no. She just called to thank me for the work I was doing for the past 6 months. So I’m not really sure what sort of sick game she’s playing. ---

At an all-faculty-for-the-whole-school-district “Love-In”, I was surprised by the magnitude of academia/buisness clichés. So I drew a “Biz-word Buzzword Bingo” (center square was PARADIGM), ducked out and made 200 copies, then passed them out. Dean StickUpHerButt asked “WHOOO did this?” I stood and took a bow, but never got in any more trouble. In fact, one dean came up to me afterward, said she liked my attitude and asked if I’d be willing to work with “troubled high schoolers”\* (due to my maturity level?). \*So I did, and had a blast with all the troublemakers! ---

We had an IT all-hands this week. I didn’t go, probably forgot or was busy. Turns out it was for layoffs and we lost about 10% of the national team. Maybe I should go to these more often ---
