Is there a service that you can sign up for that will tell you when a new book comes out by your favorite author?

Barnes & Noble has one. It’s called [Writer Alerts](http://www.barnesandnoble.com/newsletters/writeralert.asp?z=y).

If your author isn’t on their list, and if your author has a website, there might be an e-mail alert thingie there.
