According to [this story](http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/07/02/new-bubble-wrap_n_7711274.html?utm_hp_ref=canada&ir=Canada) ‘improvements’ will see that the new bubble wrap will not pop. I feel that this may be some sort of conspiracy. Opal must be spinning in her grave. ---

Stuff has been around for a few years…I think we’ve even had threads about it. It is depressing and evil, and ultimately, in my opinion, more wasteful. At my store, any bubble wrap we receive in shipments is saved to be reused when we ship out orders…which are generally smaller boxes. We rarely recycle the non-poppable stuff because it can’t be trimmed down to fit and it really isn’t very flexible. It can’t be wrapped around delicate items or stuffed into smaller spaces. I watched the machine filling the wrap at our warehouse…I understand the need for it, to save space, but I really hate it. ---

The problem I see with this is that one single little puncture and the whole thing becomes mostly useless for protection. ---

You can’t buy it unless you are a shipper. Each piece is inflated to order, and the inflation-machine is expensive. The point is to avoid shipping giant truckloads of new bubble wrap around the country. I understand they will still make traditional bubble wrap for consumers, but maybe I’m wrong. ---

Oh, it’ll pop alright. If I have to take it to the firing range, or wrap it around explosives (hmm, bubblewrap vs. fireworks…) it WILL pop. Satisfaction must not be denied. ---
