How the fuck did he get [chick.com](http://chick.com)? Is there an accurate count of how many actual chick tracts their are? I’m thinking they would be a nice gift for my brother. What are the chances of getting a complete set? ---

Well he does need the hits so that he can continue his good work. It’s sad really, Ol’ Jack has been slipping into a mediocre incoherance over the last year or so. Yet the paranoia that usually accompanies some dementia hasn’t been allowed to flower. I really miss that. Jack needs to go whole hog on whatever boogeymen are still hiding in his cobweb encrusted attic. Before he finally meets the great faceless man on the toilet, in the sky he needs to really give us a full incoheriant rant. I want to be spellbound before he goes. ---

I’m still fixated on the “fairy” on the title page. He has no connection to the rest of the story, except that it has “fairy” in the title. Apparently the urge to draw a gay caricature was so overwhelming that Chick couldn’t help shitting on his own tract. And is it necessary that little Harry be driven to _commit murder_ by his parents’ deception about Santa? Has this ever happened in the known history of the universe? Wouldn’t it have sufficed for him to _reject God_ because of their deception and get in trouble later as a result? This tract is **stupid**! ---

It is saying that Islam is a false religion because it focuses on a moon god, and Mohammad has swindled millions. My biggest problem is that the usually cite-happy Chick does not back up any of his claims about Islam except with one book, that is available through his own publisher. A little inside job, hmm? :dubious: ---

[/QUOTE] Not the psychotic murder part but there are those who believe that if you told a “lie” to your kids about Santa Claus, then Jesus might seem a lie later to them, too. My fundementalist sister is one of these. Personally, I feel bit guilty telling tooth fairy/Santa/etc stories to my kids. I do feel like a liar at times. I know it’s supposed to be part of the “magic” of being a kid but I’m pretty sure we’ve done such a good job that’ll hurt their feelings when the truth is revealed. ---

[/QUOTE] I really think Chick as a point there, because it really is true, from my atheist perspective. The only difference is that parents mostly believe the stories about Jesus (although plenty of non-believer parents send their kids to church because church is “good for them”), but don’t believe the stories about Santa. If you lie to your kids about Santa, how exactly can you expect them to logically differentiate Santa and Jesus? Yeah, so, except the murderer part. ---
