What kind of a place deals with an abusive parent with a preacher? Where is child protective services? Shouldn’t the children be taken away? How come they weren’t when daddy got arrested and the problems came out? And why am I looking for logic in a Chick Tract? True story: A devout Catholic hands out anti-abortion Chick tracts in front of my town’s Planned Parenthood. But she told me she doesn’t hand out the anti-Catholic ones. ---

Panel 17 is the first panel showing the town meeting (has 8:30 PM in the top left corner.) Panels 17, 18 and 19 are all during the town meeting. Tattooed wife-beater-T-shirt-wearing guy suggests to ask the pastor to intervene (panels 17 and 18). In panel 19, another guy criticizes either the prayer request or the pastor’s punctuation, saying “That’s stupid”. But snarky guy in panel 19 is **not** the same guy as the tattooed guy from panels 17 and 18. He might have similar facial features but it can’t be the same one. Tattooed wife-beater-T-shirt-wearing guy is a “good” guy because he suggests that the pastor help them. The guy saying that “Lot’s of prayer” is stupid is a “bad” guy because he opposes the power of prayer. Someone on the side of Good in panels 17 and 18 would not be switching to Evil in panel 19 unless we had seen Satan tempting him. Ergo they are different people. ---

I thought nothing could be more terrifying than the number of look-alike ugly people in this tract, or the horrifying theological message.
