# New Deal Democrat banned

**New Deal Democrat** has been the subject of a great deal of controversy because of his views on race and genetics and related subjects. He received a handful of warnings and a suspension for ignoring moderator instructions last year, mostly for bringing up those topics in threads where it was not relevant. He was suspended for a month in July 2011 as a result. Lately he’d gotten more confrontational with his opinions; he was being Pitted for his views in three different threads but still felt the need to open a fourth thread to espouse his views. This appeared to be a blatant case of rubbing his views in people’s faces. On top of that [he was junior moderating](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=15229808&post15229808) and [asked another poster if he’d ever committed rape.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=15227849&post15227849) As far as the staff was concerned, this was blatant trolling. Taking into a account his previous record, we have banned him.
