A terrible cost. Many people don’t know that mean words on message boards _kill people_–not through suicide or something, no–like in the “drinking clorox” sense. Do you remember Tinkerbell from the novel _Peter Pan_? When children didn’t believe in fairies she died a little and got weaker. When they _DID_ believe in fairies, Tinkerbell got stronger and healthier. BigT is like Tinkerbell, but not nearly as tough and resilient. Any sort of message board negativity shortens his life and _he’s still here to SAVE US ALL!_. Wotta guy. Why your post alone, Shodan, probably took, 2, 3 months from him. Was kinda certain I had. Mags suggests having a thicker skin about what strangers on the internet say. AB5 decides this is the perfect opening for his own hatred against straight white males\* I poke a stick at that. Exapno decides to tell me that since I am one of the oppressors\*\*, anything I have to say on the subject is 100% wrong. - In a thread where some people want to ban people for racism or hate speech. \*\* Apparently not hearing the cognitive dissonance of (\*) over the sound of his own self-loathing. So, Racism = Bad, unless it’s biased hatred of straight white male oppressors. Got it. ---

If I ran into a well informed scientific creationist crackpot, I’d probably drop by the [talkorigins.org](http://talkorigins.org) archive if I wanted to brush up upon my knowledge of the evolution of the eye. If a bigot wanted to discuss racial differentiation in IQ testing, I could probably work from memory. But if I wanted an outline of the reasons why race isn’t a scientifically coherent term from a biological perspective (as opposed to a sociological one) then I’d probably search this message board. Where else am I going to go? Thanks to all undertaking the unpleasant task of garbage collection in such threads. For the sake of your sanity, you might want to keep your arguments tight, brief and -this is important- repetitive. It seems to me that crafting an optimal set of responses to these bozos shouldn’t be too hard, but then again I don’t frequent those sorts of threads. ---
