Man, they shot that down pretty quickly. I’m guessing, by **Lobot** ’s comment, that it isn’t going to engage in the slapstick common to the 2nd and 3rd movies. ---

Yeah, I didn’t see much room for comedic elements, even though one part in particular is borrowed from a very funny scene in _Evil Dead II_. Personally, I’m a fan of the fun vibe of _Evil Dead II_, _Army of Darkness_ and _Drag Me to Hell_, which is why I’m still not overly enthused about this remake. Still, seeing “the force” zooming through the woods in the trailer was a bit of a buzz. ---

Suffers irretrievably from a lack of hot young (and hilarious) Bruce Campbell. 2. Looks like it takes itself waaaaay too seriously. Come on guys, the cheesiness was half the fun! ---

I have never seen the first Evil Dead film, but I’ve had the impression that it was intended more seriously than the sequels. Is this not true? ---

It’s not completely without humour, but it’s a much more straightforward horror film than 2 or Army of Darkness (which was barely horror at all by that point). ---

So what? No Ash? Or is that bearded looser supposed to be Ash? Evil Dead was bottled lightning. What’s the point in making a better produced but otherwise hollow remake. Oh yeh, money. ---
