# New footage of Buncefield fire

Buncefield was an oil storage depot which blew up in 2005. The BBC have some [new footage](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-46573054/buncefield-fire-idiotic-teens-capture-fuel-depot-blaze-on-film) recorded at the time by some idiotic (their term) teenagers and only released now.

Classic British understatement!

I lived in Luton, 10 miles away, at the time, and was awakened by the blast.

Wow, even at 18 I wouldn’t have been so dumb, I remember seeing the overhead shots and the extent of the damage.
