Hi bikerdruid and everyone. I’ve been lurking for over four years. This is my first post. I recently registered just so I could find older posts by certain users that I like. And don’t like. I recommend lurking and exploring old threads. I have thoroughly enjoyed going back to the dates of some world events and reading what the dope had to say about them. I LOVE the creative insults flung around in the pit. But the best thing about these boards, I think, is the moderating. The posters who troll, use slurs or just say really dumb things don’t last very long here. I’ve been reading these boards every day for years - it’s never boring. ---

Boards like these crash and burn and everyone flees if there is no moderating. All of this brilliance, angst, and whininess needs to be corralled and channeled For Good and not left to Run Amuck (except for a few days/hours until everyone is thoroughly either entertained or disgusted or both). ---

If you don’t get that, that’s ok. I’ve been here a long time and was never a part of that thread, discussion or issue, so I have no clue what the whole paper towel roll thing is about either. You’ll find a lot of history like that on this board, such as the infamous 3 item list. ---

Glad you delurked! The cool thing about this board is that if I get pissed off, there’s usually someone else who is and who can articulate themselves much better than me. \*\*SpiceWeasel \*\*has recently become my heroine with regard to mental health and feminism issues. I get pissed off and sometimes go off before I settle down while she doesn’t and can reason her arguments very well. ---

That is super sweet and funny because that’s how I think of jsgoddess, who brings down her shiny feminist hammer of doom. I have felt way less emotional about this overall since the EMDR. Maybe I’m leveling up. ---
