Well, yes, noting what yellow symbolizes.
Why so? Is yellow related to cowardice in any other culture than the british/ american ones?
Like “…one nation under God”?
So are we saying that a new Iraqi flag should have more Islamic stuff on it ? One little moon seems too little for sure.
Still even if they drop this silly flag and wait for some form of future government to decide… the damage is done. The offense was less religious and more against their sense of nationalism (strong in Iraq) and pride.
My take on it is the rebel force has to have their own symbol of unity. Something to differianate themselves from the imperial Iraq, which is now defeated. It allows them official reconition. As to what colors it should be, well, I would personally like to see some respect to the ol’ R,W,&B but that ain’t happening, so as long as they get there own flag I think it’s a good thing.
Rebel force? You mean the warlords Saddam kicked out and we installed? Or the rebels who are fighting against them? Or the rebels we got to rise up in '91 and let Saddam slaughter?
Imperial Iraq? What planet are you living on? You do realize that the word “imperial” has an actual meaning, correct?
I don’t know how to reply on this without violating at least one of the GD rules, but I think I’ll go with, “are you on acid?”
This person was the editor (I think) of a vexillogical journal. I couldnt find the transcript.
A google of vexillogical and Iraq found this article. It indicates that vexolligists are vexed over new design. The president of the North American Vexillological Association was interviewed.
Yes including:
http://encarta.msn.com/dictionary_/imperial.html
Which pretty much nails S.H.'s power over the Iraqi people.
To answer your question, no, to ask you one, since we helped get rid of a murderous dictator, I will ask you: are you?
This is silly.
Nobody knows where to get acid anymore…
(do they?)
Don’t bother answering him guys… check out this wierd post Not much use trying logic.
Well, a lot like that. The evangelical Christian might consider that an important statement of God’s supremacy over, and important role in, temporal government, whereas a more liberal Christian would not care too much. This is the same kind of thing as “allahu akbar” on the flag is for Islamist and more liberal Muslims.
