I’m not sure what part of the year he spends at each location, but he has been in Monmouth county most of that 30 years and the 30+ years before that. ---

Otherwise you could just say any singer was identified with their hometown. I agree that Hendrix is not identified with Seattle other than it being his hometown. Pearl Jam and Nirvana _are_ identified with Seattle, although only one of the five members of the former and none of the three main members of the latter were born there. ---
