# New message overflow

For the past 4 days, the message board has stopped updating what messages it thinks are new to me. That is, all messages posted since the 22nd are still shown as new. Anyone know what I can do to fix this? Do I have an erroneous cookie on my machine or something?

If it was me, I would try deleting the cookies and logging in again (but then I tend to delete them all on a fairly regular basis anyway).

When you say “deleting the cookies” do you mean actually going to the cookie folder and manually deleting them? Or does logging out (by clicking the logout link below the quick reply box) actually take care of the problem.
I have not expereienced any such technical difficuleties since I registered, but it would be good knowledge to have. I never formally log out of SDMB, I simply close my browser. That way I’m automatically logged in next time I select the bookmark.

Well, the problem seemed to fix itself when I got on the message board today. After that, I went and cleaned out my cookie directory anyway. It was long past overdue for that.
