New Movie: "A Wrinkle in Time"

…I can’t count, can I? No, I can’t. That’s right, there are four books without An Acceptable Time (I don’t like Many Waters, therefore I ignore its existence even when it should be included), so feel free to disregard anything I may have babbled on about in my previous post about box sets.

Heh.

But AAT does fit in with the quartet better than it does with a lot of the other books with Polly in them. It’s easily included as a sort of sequel, I think.

If An Acceptable Time is the one I’m remembering (she has a picture of an angel and a pair of scissors with her?), I was gravely disappointed by it. Yes, it fit with the rest of the series in the sense that it stars a family member from the original books, and takes place (initially) at the same farmhouse, but I’d like a little more from a sequel than “It’s definitely part of the same series!”. To me, it just seemed wishy-washy. But then, I suppose that it’s hard to live up to the standards of A Wrinkle in Time and A Wind in the Door.

And Madeline L’Engle had better still be alive; I plan to invite her to my Nobel Prize acceptance ceremony. If, of course, I ever win a Nobel Prize.
