Well, everyone, I’d say that about does it for those squcks! Now for a well deserved re - What’s that in the sky? :: **Sunspace** runs out the door and into the deserted village square. It’s still dark. The square is littered with debris as well; there are bodies of several kinds of beasts, spent rounds, stones, bricks, smashed vendors’ carts, downed streetlights, and the tracks of military vehicles. Several of the buildings on the square seem to be in ruins; the train station is a wreck, and the catenary wires over the railway are down. A helicopter can be heard in the distance. He looks up the hill towards the Doorway. Nothing seems to have changed, but he expects that there are exploring teams pf police or military personnel, and maybe a guard on the opening. He starts cautiously around the square, makes his way across the railway line (avoiding wires), and starts up the hill. :: Dammit, I’m _hungry_! ---
