Just got home from ringing in the new year in the Big Easy. There was an awesome fireworks display set off from a couple of barges on the river.

Being an amateur pyro myself, I would like to learn the details regarding cost, shell count and shell size of the display. Multiple attempts on Google have turned up nada.

Anybody have the Dope on this?

Strictly anecdotally, I can tell you that it’s possible to purchase your own fireworks show at Walt Disney World (as an add-on to a wedding package). Prices start at around $15,000. Of course, I have no idea how long your show will be, nor how it compares to the New Orleans show. Keep in mind that Disney is probably operating on a pretty high profit margin on those shows; because, who else are you going to buy your own fireworks show from? But then again, Disney probably also has their own in-house pyrotechnics department to keep costs down; New Orleans probably just hired a professional company.
