Whatever you name her remember that one day you may to roam around the neighborhood shouting that name. Someone up the street reminded me of that because her dog was named Bonkers. ---

Just be careful that the name is not too popular. Years ago when we got our dauchsund, my youngest named her Bella. I thought how unique :smack: My boss had a dog she named after Tom Brady. My mom’s dog who lives with me now is named Ollie. I like that name. ---

I love her to bits even though it looks like someone took a real Lab and squashed her. PLEASE do not name your dog: Bella, Charlie, Molly, Sadie, Ella or Emma, Shadow, Midnight, Daisy, or Stella. I mean, unless you really love any of those names, but as someone in the dog care field, I know more dogs with those names than you can imagine. Including one of my own, but she came with that name and I thought I was going to stay in touch with her previous person and didn’t want to insult him by changing her name. Shoulda done it. ---

Sorry I’m just getting back to this. The reason I said she has English traits is that her mom looks more American and her Dad more English, and she looks a bit more like the Dad (if you can tell such things at 3.5 weeks). Lots of good suggestions… many of which we had considered, many we had not. Some apparently are jokes but I don’t get them (Eric?)… some not even when I think about it (Dioji?). And as far as the Baseball connection is concerned… I’m not a fan. The two we had/have were rescues and were old enough to know their names well and we didn’t want to change them. We do like football though and we had said before if we ever had two boys though that they would be Lucas and Lambeau. Anyway… is looks like we may have landed on a name that none of us rolled our eyes at. Naya… which is Sanskrit for Renewal or Fresh. She is kind of our hope on getting things back to the happy side of life this year after the earlier losses. I’m still working on pictures as we’ve only met her once since she isn’t weaned and not close by. I only have two picture on my phone, one of which she is sleeping and with a little wrinkly black ball of fur it is hard to make out much. The other I am prominently in the pic and that would be distracting to all the women who wouldn’t even notice the cute puppy. The kids and my wife have many more on their phones so I need to get them to send them to my laptop so I can put a few up. ---

Wait until you get her home… Get to know her personality and a name will sort of pop out… My glutinous lab over here is DAISY… We were playing on the floor, and the Dukes of Hazard movie was being advertised on TV, and DAISY was sitting and I had both her giant sized paws in my hands and I started to comment on the GIANT SIZE OF… Looked at the TV, connected two things and she was a DAISY. Ginger became Ginger because she needed a name, she has no tail (a blessing if you actually put anything on your coffee table), and was coming to “Stumpy”. South Park was on, the one about the Ginger’s… And Ginger has orange hair, freckles and a pale pink nose… Ginger… Molly just happened, she wanted to be Molly, I had thought it, and then the little lady said, “she wants to be a Molly”… And I couldn’t argue. For the record, I’ve had an Abby and a Cleo, lab and a lab mix… The cats… Same thing, you have to get them home first, though there are TOO MANY. Lucy AKA Luccci Luuuuuu Andromeda… AKA Fluffy Kitty O’Ryan AKA Big Guy Franklyn, Franky, AKA Franky Fat Ass Jacklyn AKA Fruit Cake Stinky AKA Stinky doodle went to town riding on a pony… The last thing you need to be worrying about is a name.
