So, someone someone just needs to make a lovin spoonful?
I’ll watch Feb 5. Don’t want to see any more auditions.

Tony Bourdain - “This is supposed to be comfort food. This dish doesn’t make me comfortable, it makes me want to order a very expensive bottle of wine and crash a Ferrari.”

The French guy Ludo is completely unintelligible. I can’t understand anything he’s saying. I can’t imagine the producers aren’t going to talk to him before the next episode about enunciation and slowing down his speech.
Was that for the dish by Charlie Sheen’s chef? Because that would’ve been pretty funny.
Yeah, I was thinking it would really suck to be on his team and have no idea what he was telling you.
Anthony Bourdain did an episode of ‘No Reservations’ where he was hosted by Ludo in Ludo’s hometown in Burgundy. After watching that, I can follow what Ludo is saying most of the time.
I have the closed captioning on, so ludo is deciphered.

I just watched this week’s episode, and was glad to see Ludo’s guy go after he started acting like a petulant child.
Is anyone else mildly irritated by Malarkey constantly needling Ludo?
Well, I missed the audition round, but caught a couple of episodes at the gym, and all I have to say is that for a blind selection, they wound up with a suspiciously fine looking set of chefs.
I’m sorry, thumbs down on this one. It’s just another food show and I’m getting tired of them. Celebrity chefs are beginning to grate on me, there’s far too many who think they’re entertaining. I couldn’t watch it all the way through.
Ludo and Malarkey are gonna throw down by season’s end.
Tony Bourdain is pretty kind-hearted considering he’s a chef. I really think he hates to see his contestants go, more than any of the other celebrichefs.

We can only hope - I’d love to see one or both of them get punched in the face.
Something else that has been pointed out: if it’s truly a blind tasting, then why do they reveal who cooked each of the worst dishes before voting on who to eliminate?
The cute girl lost! Nigella shoulda lost her kitchen.
I think it’s so the judges can have an out if it turns out that one of the best chefs had a crappy night. Similar to how they do it in So You Think You Can Dance, which has the audience vote for the bottom three couples and then the judges pick two to eliminate.
I like that The Taste is doing blind tastings for all of the episodes, and not just the initial tryouts. It does make it seem more fair. And I don’t mind so much if the judges know who made the worst dishes before they pick who to eliminate. So if a contestant who has been stellar throughout has one off night, then they probably won’t get eliminated. However, it’s possible that even with this format the judges might end up having to send someone home that they really didn’t want to. For example, what if the four judges each name the dish they think is the worst, and they all agree on one or two dishes? Then those contestants are definitely going home. Or if the four judges end up choosing three dishes as the worst and one of them has immunity, then the other two are automatically going home. I think this is good for upping the tension and pressure because the contestants know that even if they’re in the worst dishes the judges might be able to/choose to save them, but it’s by no means guaranteed.
This just ended last night.
It was an okay show. Like the similar “MasterChef” show on FOX, the audition part really dragged.
And I think it needs a format tweak in that the “team challenge” seems to be heavily skewed in favor of the best chef among the team leaders/judges, in this case Ludo (whose team IIRC won all of the team challenges except the final), considering that the judges are basically just telling the “contestants” what to do.
I didn’t really care for him, but Ludo totally hosed the guy who won all the challenges for his team. Too bad he wasn’t blonde and boobed, hey?
Happy with the winner - she seemed excellent, and had a great attitude.
Just read somewhere (TwoP?) that the winner, Kristianne, will soon be on an episode of Millionaire Matchmaker. Apparently, she’s considered a millionaire.
I don’t know if she taped The Taste before or after the Millionaire Matchmaker. It’s confusing because her girlfriend was cheering her on at the Taste finale, and on Millionaire, she’s looking for a girlfriend.
The prize for The Taste was what, a car and $100K, IIRC.
She had to have been rich already if she’s genuinely a millionaire, but I don’t know what kind of standards the Millionaire Matchmaker upholds.
