How many people here remember the old Schwinn Stingray Bicycles from the 70’s
Man, thise things were like the Cadallac of the Bicycle world. Well guess what, Schwinn is coming out with a **BRAND NEW MODEL FOR THE YEAR 2004** thats going to be avaliable this spring at Wal-Mart. The 70s?
Man, my first Sting Ray was bought for me in 1964!
It was the coolest copper color. I ended up getting a Schwinn Racer 3 speed in 1968 and selling the Sting Ray to my friend.
I still regret that. Man, to still have an original Sting Ray…
The new one looks cool, but why couldn’t they bring back the classic? With the sissy bar on the back?
[Just found this site](http://oldroads.com/st_sum2.htm) that tells me the Sting Ray was introduced in 1963, and my color was called Radiant Coppertone. [And here it is!](http://www.thecabe.com/museum/62a.html)
Good memories of my first bike.

It looks like Schwinn in jumping on the nostalgia bandwagon, Raleigh re-introduced the [rul=http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nottinghamshire/3399423.stm]Chopper earlier this year

I should be a salesman for Schwinn.
I emailed the link to a few people at work, and FOUR of them have already pre-ordered the bike for their kids.
If I were quite a few decades younger, I would be camped out at my local Walmart waiting for them to arrive. I can remember being the first in my small hometown to have a banana seat and butterfly handlebars - pretty hot stuff in those days.
