So… Lucifer’s mom… who would that be? Lilith? I guess she wouldn’t be Anandiel’s mom. God fooled around a lot in the early days. Who’s going to play her? For some reason, the first person to come to mind for me is Carol Kane. 🙂 Other contenders include Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates & Louise Fletcher, but it will probably be somebody who’s not that famous, but somehow fits the role perfectly. ---

“Mum” doesn’t have to be an older actress, though more roles for older actresses would be nice. She can present any way she wishes, no doubt. If she is as vain as Lucifer, she will present as a hot 20-something, or as a child, if she wants to get people off guard. And as any race or ethnicity. I hope it’s not Lilith. She was created to be a spouse for Adam, so it would be weird for her to have spawned angels. They should predate her by eons. ---

I think his wings were as weakened by the “demon blade forged in the fires of hell” as he was. And your are right, the point was for Maze to make the sacrifice. ---

Lilith is mythologically the wrong figure, but much more popularly known. Asherah would be the mythologically correct figure, but I think way fewer people have heard of her (I hadn’t until I read discussion of “Who’s Lucifer’s Mom?”). I suppose they could just make up a character like they did with Amenadiel. I _really_ hope they don’t go the route of saying the “mum” was short for “mumazielakenafoo, that evil demon we created for the show” instead of short for “mother, who had a hand in my creation”. ---

Technically, Lilith is from [satirical Jewish folklore](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alphabet_of_Sirach), not the Bible. She represented the haughty female who refused to be subservient to her spouse. She claimed dominion over sick children who die shortly after birth. Thereafter, she was branded as the personification of hussies of loose morals and the mother of demons. Her mythological identity is pretty flexible, so why can’t she be Lucifer’s mum too? ---

Lucifer’s mum could be [Sophia.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sophia_(Gnosticism)). That would make more sense than Lilith, especially as in the comic book Maze is a Lilin (offspring of Lilith). ---

But why would wisdom and soul have been removed from the world and imprisoned in a dismal cell? That would explain the sorry state of affairs on earth, however. ---

Finally watched the finale. I was thoroughly enjoying it, right up to the point where Lucifer states that father sent him back to return a soul that had escaped from hell. To which my reaction was, “They’re turning it into fucking _Brimstone_.” And then, with the camera shots of Lucifer and Amandeiel, “There turning it into devil cop/angel cop _Brimstone_.” I was somewhat appeased though with the revelation that the escapee was mom.
