I have both. Both are pain to ass to use as you stand nekkid in the shower, but this thing is BEAUTIFUL and I want to keep it nice. We have very very hard water. ---

I found my willpower to squeegee quickly waned, and I shifted to cleaning every couple of months, or when company was coming over. I find that Ka-Boom cleans the water spots with modest effort, though the fumes are unpleasant for a few minutes. I’ve also used Earth-Brite clay with equal success. In both cases, a brush attachment on my small cordless drill reduces the elbow grease needed. ---

The clay will definitely clean everything with surprisingly little effort (and you don’t have to do it while you’re nekkid in the shower). And it lasts a long time. Rain-X makes a product for indoor use such as on glass shower doors. My experience with it is that it works and lets the water bead off for at least a week, but it really stinks with a chemical smell when you’re putting it on. To directly answer the OP, I’ve tried squeegees and I’ve trying cloths including microfiber, and nothing gets all the water off so that it dries clear. You would need to go in a few minutes after with one of those really big microfiber cloths like you use to dry your car, and wipe it down really, really thoroughly. I don’t think we have particularly hard water here, but it’s not soft either. ---

I use Method’s daily shower cleaner. It’s let me stretch the time between scrubbing to 6-8 weeks. Otherwise, the glass turns frosted within a week. When it is time to deep clean, Zep tub, tile, and shower cleaner gets through mineral deposits better than the grocery store stuff. ---

The first thing you want to do with new glass shower doors is to protect it with a sealant. Its purpose is to fill in microscopic ridges and valleys on the glass to make it more difficult for dirt and minerals in the water to take hold. Next, use a squeegee after every shower use to wipe off water drops. You can use whatever you want here like a cloth or microfiber but the idea isn’t to dry, it’s to eliminate as much of the water drops as you can. I find a squeegee is the quickest as you only need a few swipes to go around the wall and doors. If the glass sealant you used adds a hydrophobic coating, all the much easier. If your bathroom has windows, open them and let it ventilate until dry. If it doesn’t have a window, fully open the door to the room and turn on the ventilation fan. The idea is to quickly disperse steam to reduce condensation that mold and watermarks loves so much. Finally, if you’ve practiced good shower cleaning habits, a weekly or bi-weekly cleaning with a regular cleaner will all you need to keep it looking nice and shiny. ---

My gf’s bathroom was remodeled a few years ago and the shower is beautiful. We have a water softener and she squeegees after every shower. My shower is not beautiful, but I squeegee after every shower so that I don’t have to clean it. I just replace my curtain when it becomes disgusting. ---

We had to replace our shower door because we were using Tilex Fresh Shower and it etched the glass. We use that spray on the tile and it’s fine but the glass does not. So now we just squeegee it and its’s fine. Takes maybe 10 seconds. ---

I went after them with 50/50 cleaning vinegar and water and they are gone. The shower door cleaner from the manuacturer doesn’t do as well. ---

I have newish shower with glass doors, I use a squeegee and microfiber cloth. The shower has been in use for 5 months or so and there is a slight soap/water deposit that the microfiber can’t remove anymore. I will be adding a monthly glass cleaner to the routine. The glass is pretty enough to to make the effort worth it. ---

There will be no soap scum or hard water deposits if you wipe the door down with Mister Clean Magic Eraser. ~VOW
