Consenting adults, and all that.
After reading the Pit thread on this subject, I happened to run into a young lady of my acquaintance who works as a stripper. I told her about the whole deal, how I thought it was completely degrading, then mentioned that the ‘bunnies’ make $1-3K per hunt. “Hell, yeah, I’ll do it”, she said.
So there ya go.

Seems like they are potentially openning themselves up to litigation if the “Bambi” takes a paintball in the eye. Other than that, I don’t see any problem with it.
Everyone involved is an adult making a decision they are free to make. I assume it is being done on private property where nudity is allowed. Selling the videos is no different than porn or Steve-O (from Jackass). If people are willing to pay, myself included, who want’s to stop us?
\*Bum Fights \* was a big hit with my pals at the fraternity house. I am thinking this would be a worthy follow up. 🙂

I think so, too. Sounds like a publicity stunt. Who is going to pay $5000 for this idiotic stunt? And from the look of the idiots playing, $5000 is probably more than their trailers are worth.

Hokay, boys, fess up. Which one of YOU crazy bastards has been fantasizing about shooting naked women with paintball guns?
I mean, I could see fantasizing about watching them DANCE, or even watching them stand there and BREATHE, or have SEX with them…
…but shooting them in the butt with paintball guns?

Wang-Ka, I agree fully. This kinda stuff is BS of the highest magnitude, but then again, I think it’s just a publicity stunt.

I also find it kind of interesting that my search engines aren’t giving me any information on this phenomenon… except the news station’s web site, and one other message board where they’re sayin’ the same stuff we are about it…

Well it never occured to me before hand, but on its face it has a certain amusement value.
That is, if we abstract away from the criminal idiocy of no eye goggles or the like, as well as the liklihood that creepy misogynists would flock to the sport, on its face it has a silly amusing aspect.

Well, I mean chasing girls around and throwing paint on them, silly sorts of … sex play? All well and good I say, not my sort of thing but I see the entertainment value. Now I understand from you all the paintballs are actually really quite painful, and the whole thing takes on a creepy hunting atmosphere in that context.
All in all, on a theoretical level it seems silly and amusing, but the actual ‘facts’ seem to suggest creepy misogyny.
Of course, I always found the Japanse gameshow where they shot a soccer ball cannon at people trying to cross a rope bridge to be hilarious, so perhaps I need help.
Ah Japanese gameshows, so wonderfully sick and abusive.

The _Sydney Morning Herald_ reported it today, based on an article appearing in something called _Slate_ Magazine. Doesn’t prove anything, but it is a mainstream media source reporting on it.

Chasing after naked women with paintball guns sounds unneccessarily exploitive, I agree. And needlessly dangerous (no helmets?)
But how about chasing naked women with water balloons? No sting, no danger from high-velocity projectiles. Would it be exploitive if she were similarly armed and _you_ were naked, too?
The scenario has possibilities…

Was on ESPN last night as well. I personally don’t have a problem with it except the no goggles part. Paintballs can and do hurt, I can’t imagine what it would do to an eye.

Saw it on Fox News last night also. They were showing lots of “blurred out” footage of hunts. They also had one of the owners along with a stripper looking chick talking about how much fun it is. They admitted that the paintballs often draw blood.

WEll, full consent and all that, but I would say that no goggles is clearly negligence, presuming this is real. A bruise or even many isn’t that bad. Impaired or lost eye function, however, is.

I can’t believe anyone in his/her right mind would consent to doing this without goggles. I’ve been whacked in the face with a paintball, and it still hurt, even through clothing or a full helmet. And that was at a range of 15 feet; I can certainly imagine doing some lasting damage at closer range. I don’t bruise easily, but was left with a couple of lasting bruises. Others were also bruised much worse than I was, and we were all wearing clothing and protective gear.
How would you all feel about it if the gender roles were reversed? Or can you even imagine that happening?

Men pay good money to be on the receiving end of worse tortures in downtown fetish parlors. Reversal of gender roles in this context seems pretty reasonable to me.
Except, of course, it would be the _men_ who would pay to be hunted, and the supermodel hunters would receive $5000 per “bullseye.”

This is why I’ve never had a desire to play Paintball with anyone.

It’s been tried. “Gentler” paintballs tend to shred upon exiting the gun. Hell, a fair number of paintballs do just that, ANYWAY.
Y’see… paintball guns are not designed for sniping or hunting. They’re designed for chasing people around and shooting them at close range, and they don’t do the best job of that.
Then again, a better weapon would be REAL guns, and we’re all trying real hard not to murder each other, here.
This is why I regard “hunting” with paintball guns as laughable. What you are seeing is not “hunting.” In the video, what we are seeing is “chicks running from barrier to barrier to give some shmo with a paintball gun standing twenty feet away a chance to shoot her.”
And pay a thousand bucks minimum for the opportunity.
What the hell? I just don’t get this. Then again, I don’t get the idea of paying $200 to be tied up and whipped by some chick in a leather bustier, either. If I’m going to pay some busty beauty a big chunk of change, I can think of things I want her to do that are much more in line with my own personal fantasies.
Stuff that prolly wouldn’t get me flamed too much HERE, either. At least most folks would prolly understand the appeal.
…but, yeah, this does kind of smack of some kind of mental unbalancing. Shooting naked chicks with paintball guns? No goggles? No helmets? Yeah. Wait until somebody catches a close-range, high pressure shot in the temple. Or, better yet, an eye. Can’t WAIT to see the liability issues. Not to mention the lawsuit. It’ll make O.J. look like Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm…
