You didn’t miss anything. Yes, it’s a senate committee. As for Haley, I suspect she does oppose three of those things on the list (healthcare because Republicans generally do, climate because global warming is a hoax, and defense cuts because the GOP sees the military as one of the few justifiable uses of federal spending). Not sure about infrastructure since some conservatives do support that—may just be “anything Sanders supports I automatically oppose.” ---

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’ve just got a mental image of Mr. M’s family reacting to this latest embarrassment. Their unusual and highly recognizable last name used to pull some weight in NY society, and now it’s trash. It was about 3 and a half years ago, I think, that their staff manager called me to request an appointment to work on the lighting in their home. Then, a few days later, they informed that Mr. and Mrs. wanted to be there for the early afternoon meeting. This was unusual because even though I had worked on the lighting in the apartment since they remodeled it, I only met them once, it was an evening appointment with a lot of people around and it didn’t feel like I was visible to them ( which is typical ). So here I am in their living room at 1PM, and they are being so nice to me and getting me a soda (with ice!) personally and making sure that I know that they don’t like Trump and are tweaked af at their son’s new job. It was epic! And that was BEFORE he had Mike Pence officiate at his wedding ( he’s Jewish, as is his family). That was before the Fort Knox thing and before this. I don’t know whether to feel sorry for them or laugh, but since I’m laughing I guess I do. ---

Pretty much all the rich NY real estate and finance power brokers except Trump are Jewish. Not all, but 90,95%. And I think I’m being conservative with that number because I don’t want to stereotype. It’s mentionable only because it’s a large part of what made Trump the asshole that he is, the fact that he always felt ostracized by this group. Some of them owned way more buildings than Trump, in a low key unobtrusive way. I used to work for one of these other real estate barons. Their signature, they way you know you are entering a building they own, is a half inch strip at eye level on the glass entry door with their last name repeated across it, gray on white. Subtle. Classy. Not the tacky giant gold letters that are the Trump trademark. These was the club he wanted to join, the guys he wanted to impress. And he was never anything but a joke to them, a dumbass con man playing at doing what they did for real. He could never be part of that club, not even when his daughter married into a family on the sleazy fringes of the group. ---

Missed edit window. A last name like Mnuchin is perfect for these rich society fucks. It’s highly recognizable, no one has to ask “Which Mnuchins?” It also serves as a filter, a snobbery test, as it were. If someone mispronounces or fumbles it, you know they don’t belong. Unless someone in the family does something notorious, then it becomes toxic. I bet they’ve spent the last 4 years wishing it was Cohen or Ross. ---

The teacher had each of us put a block of a specific red (by HEX code) on our screens, and then we all walked around the room and observed how the same red looked very different on the different screens.
