An old friend from highschool annoyed the hell out of me last week with this antifa–\>white house nonsense. He called it “very enlightening”, a bunch of his buddies replied “wow” “interesting” “makes sense” and “hmmm…”

I called him out on it, pointed out that whatever numbnuts owns antifa . com can redirect it wherever he wants. He says he knows that, but he thought it was funny, and why am I making such a big deal about it?

I realize that TLDs are not meaningful, but I doubt “antifa”, if it really existed, would use a dot-com address.

Yes, it is fucking stupid when they get upset that a painting depicting a metaphorical scene is “not real”

OF course it’s not real, you stupid cow. It depicts Biden’s first days when he is dealing with a country in crisis that he inherited from his moron predecessor.

She thinks it’s a photograph? She thinks it is supposed to represent the ACTUAL PHYSICAL state of affairs? She’s stupid, and eats stupid food for breakfast.

And you’re not far behind.

No that’s her job she says what the audience wants. If she thinks that far.

A lot of people don’t really consider what is true to be important, they use words for effect.

When he was 15, Josh Hawley wrote a column defending the Oklahoma City bomber.

Registered almost two decades ago, long, long before “antifa” would have had any meaning in public consciousness. Undiscoverable owner at a Panama City PO Box, using a phone with Minnesota area code, with a fax machine that appears to be in Peru.

So, yeah, quite fake.

This isn’t about “canceling” a decent adult for a bit of youthful folly in his teen years a quarter-century ago. This is about pointing out that this particular adult with shitty views today had similarly shitty views a quarter-century ago.

In fact, I’d say that 15-year-old Hawley comes across as slightly more rational and mature than present-day Hawley. At least back then he knew that antigovernment militias were prone to bullshit conspiracy theories. Now he’s just pouring gasoline on the flames of bullshit conspiracy theories to induce their promoters to vote for him.

(Moreover, I think that something a 15-year-old voluntarily publishes in their hometown newspaper as a public comment on political issues is fair game to consider as part of their adult politician persona. We’re not stealing and data-dumping the kid’s high school diaries or yearbook inscriptions here; we’re merely reading something he deliberately wrote for the public press, like a grown-up, for all the world to see.)

Speaking of “stupid shit you wrote as a teenager”, I authored that “stupid food” post when I was 16 and am pretty appalled that people somehow still remember it. Just know I am fondly anticipating the day the SDMB goes offline and everything I wrote from ages 15-19 can finally be swallowed back into the earth, where it belongs.

And if you read further in, the bill does not say _anything_ about examining potentially transmen/boys to see if they actually have a dangly.

It’s only the women they’re worried about.

Frankly, this smells like an attempt to make sexual assault of a minor legal.
