What input did they take from the Democratic Party when they appointed all of those judges while Trump was president and refused to do so while Obama was president? The Republicans in Congress _already_ practice scorched earth policies. ---

Yeah, McConnell could not be making it clearer that his party is simply the Anti-Democratic Party, and has no governing agenda other than opposing what Democrats support and supporting what Democrats oppose. I had not previously been particularly in favor of ending the filibuster, but this sort of naked minoritarianism makes me think that maybe we should just get rid of it for the sake of not catering to minoritarian obstructionism. We already knew that the Republican Party isn’t interested in actually “strengthening” the country, but instead just playing partisan politics. So why keep deferring to them as though they were actually good-faith partners in governance? ---

A long, long time ago, a student at the Art Institute of Chicago painted a picture of the former Mayor of Chicago, Harold Washington, in lingerie. It was rumored that when he died in office (literally - in the mayor’s office), they found lingerie under his suit. It was displayed at the school (not at the main museum) in a student display that no one outside of the school saw (for the most part). A bunch of aldermen got their panties in a bunch (sorry, couldn’t resist), and made a big stink about it, culminating with a news conference where EVERYONE could see the picture with a message of “See? The thing about Mitch I can’t figure out is WHY? He’s not monetizing this, unlike trumpy who wouldn’t take a piss unless he could make money from it. Mitch is old and doesn’t seem to want to be Emperor of the World or anything. He’s not bucking for a Noble ( **or** Nobel) Prize. Does he want Scorched Earth to be his legacy? Was he frightened by a Democrat when he was nursing at his momma’s breast (sorry for that visual)? Has he always been this way? I gather that there was a time when cordiality existed between him and Biden. What makes Mitch tick?
