He’s just taken it down to prep it for his imminent reinstatement (the uninitiated may have heard “August,” but those who have been admitted into the inner sanctum know he really meant “two weeks”). Either that, or it’s pining for the fjords. ---

Congresswoman Nancy Mace is claiming that “antifa” vandalized her house with black spray paint. People are pointing out that she never called the police, the paint was only on places that can be spray cleaned, and the handwriting looks like hers. ---

So you are fine with state-sanctioned killing but you object to the method? Let’s do a little test: “We are not nazis because we do not use zyclon-b” Or “We are not nazis because we do not condone state-sanctioned killing” Which of these two statements show a working sense of morality and logic? ---

Unless you’re an absolute pacifist, are opposed to war including strictly defensive war, and believe it’s never ever appropriate for police to use deadly force even if not doing so would mean their death, then you’re OK with some state-sanctioned killing - it’s simply a matter of degree. We are not Nazis because we don’t commit genocide. ---

The end goals of the Rs are not significantly different from those of the NSDAP. However, German democracy was rather nascent in the early thirties, whereas American democracy, such as it is, is hoary, well-baked-in. The biggest difference is that the NAZIs were quite a lot more competent, well-focused and -organized. They achieved much in their short run and were foiled primarily by their leader requiring shoelaces to be tied between their shoes. As noted in this thread, Individual-ONE was so incompetent that he could not work as major national disaster to his favor. It is not clear whether a well-run R party could attain the levels of power that were seen in Reich III, but there can be little question that they would be delighted to do so and the result would probably be at least as bad.
