And if he did nothing to protect himself (vaccinate) then he was derelict and contributed to his own death. If he went rock climbing on his own time and ignored advice from experienced climbers, used an old frayed rope from his garage and plummeted to his death…. That’s about equivalent. We would not then talk about “he died in the line of duty”. We’d call him a dumbass. ---

Oh, I get it. Did not notice this before. The date on the story. His death was “in the line of duty” entirely because it was announced last Thursday. ---
