I think the take-away here is that it’s pretty insane no matter what. Rented guns? They’re literally spending money on the appearance of being Gun Nuts to appeal to the Gun Nut Demographic. Fake guns? There’s still the spending money part, but now they’re posing even more - they want to appear to own such guns, without actually owning them. Real guns? The most expensive option of all, to own guns that have virtually no real-world purpose. So, actual Gun Nuts, spending ridiculous amounts of money to show off to other Gun Nuts exactly how Gun-Nutty they really are. ---
