In San Antonio, at first you had to have symptoms in order to get tested, and then when things settled down, anyone could get tested. Now, with all the spikes and depletion of supplies, we’re back to _only symptomatic people can get tested_. Furthermore it takes a day or more to get the test results. So the best case scenario is going to be that they can say, well it looks like these 87 people who were hanging around the convention all of yesterday had the Corona virus. ---

Not that the Republicans are going to listen to anyone bearing biostatistics, but it’s worth pointing out that the COVID-19 nasal swab test is only about 70% sensitive. So they’re really only keeping 70% of the people with COVID-19 out of the arena on any given day. That’s better than nothing, I guess? ---
