One of many GQP tactics; nominate an easily controlled sports or media figure with name recognition for a seat somewhere. If elected, fill out the staff with zealots to promote “values”. Provide spokespersons to gloss over all the idiot statements the mannequin blurts out. Misquoted, out of context, fake news, didn’t say it, deny and accuse Dems of same stuff, not necessarily the truth. Just off the top of my head: Tuberville Walker JC Watts this guy Oz ---

Olympia (the state capital) is at the southern end of Puget Sound rather than on the Olympic Peninsula. The latter is probably best known for Forks (site of the _Twilight_ series, and constantly in the running for The Most Dismal Place on Earth™). Parts of the OP, such as Olympic National Park and Port Townsend, are truly beautiful; others, particularly the ex-logging areas, are dyed-in-the-wool Trump country. ---

One of the 2(?) snail farms in the US is also in the Olympic Penninsula, [Little Gray Farms](https://www.littlegrayfarms.com/). There’s another in Long Island, New York and a Google search also brings up another possible farm, but they only have a Facebook page while the others have shops for buying escargot. ---
