Is she going on about people not saying how they preferred to be addressed, in writing, before a couple years ago? At first I thought she was saying that actual pronouns weren’t used in all those documents, etc., which was just stupid on the face of it and easily disprovable. This is slightly less stupid, but only because she’s acting as if it’s a big deal that someone would DARE tell you how they prefer to be addressed. How is it different from asking someone to call you by a nickname rather than your legal name? Does she object to _that_ as a preference, too? ---

I think the problem is that she failed 2nd grade English class, and has no idea what a pronoun is, just that she’s heard that they are bad things that the transgender community uses. ---

The best thing about this is that the Hebrew word translated as “God” in the Bible - **Elohim** - is actually _plural_ (whereas YHWH, usually transcribed as “the Lord”, is singular). That means that God is sometime a “He” and sometimes a “They”. ---

Now I see they’re just misusing the word “pronoun” — a bit how they once tried to turn the neutral, specialized social-science term “chain migration” into some sort of insult or moral crime. ---

It’s pretty amazing to have not heard of him. I remember as a child, seeing the headline, “Trump declares bankruptcy.” and thinking that was very odd, as the only thing I knew then about Trump was it was the card that beat other cards. If I, at age 5 or 6, without knowing what exactly bankruptcy was, or who Trump was, still knew that about him, you’ve gotta be working pretty hard to keep your head under a rock to know _less_ than that.
