Yes, and particularly compared to ‘veggie tray’. I’ve known for a while from context that it was food, and in the hors d’oeuvres category. I didn’t realize it was specifically veggies and dip until I just now looked it up. ---

I only ask because I’ve seen it suggested that making fun of Oz for using the word is “elitism” or “anti-intellectualism” or something along those lines. Which led into discussions of why we view French as a “pretentious” language, but that’s another discussion. ---
