I wondered why Knowles would agree to this. These days most actors would avoid that sort of stunt role like it was the plague or something.
Then I looked up Knowles and found out he’s not an actual actor. He’s a conservative political commentator. My eyes were opened.

There is an actor named Michael Knowles. Some of his past cedits include _Are You Being Served?_ and _Dad’s Army_ – which is to say, he is an 84-y/o Brit. Perfect choice to play Malcolm X.

Kari Lake dropped a massive bombshell in the Arizona gubernatorial election. Her opponent voted to remove the teaching of the Constitution, pledge of allegiance, the National Anthem, the Declaration of Independence, and the Mayflower Compact. Of course, she did no such thing. But I’m sure the MAGAts will believe it.

I originally thought, “Okay, let them do a race-reversed Malcolm X movie, I’m sure it would be hilarious (completely unintentionally, of course)”, but then, reading this, I think having Malcolm X played straight by an elderly white British person would be legitimately hilarious. Play it completely straight, like Leslie Nielsen’s comedy roles, and it could be a winner!
I’m torn between the Muppet version, where he’s the only white actor surrounded by Black actors who just never notice that he’s white, and the Dave Chappelle Black KKK member version, where they all know he’s white, but pretend he’s not because he’s so good at leading.

How many movies have been made with a Black actor playing an historical person? Not that there’s anything wrong with it, but I can’t think of any off the top of my head (not counting _Hamilton_’s intentional cross-race casting).
As for fictional characters that have only been played by white actors, who cares if a Black actor plays them, too?

Oh, rats: in an _email_.
If it had been a video clip: what bliss for his every electoral opponent for years to come. 15-second ad, 30-second ad, 60-second ad–it makes no difference. Just alternating clips of Hawley booking it through the Capitol to escape the same mob he’d fist-pump encouraged, and Hawley intoning “there is only one gender.” Over and over and over again.
What a shame that it cannot be!
