OTOH, Christie was politically hurt by being photographed with Obama after a natural disaster.
If one really believes that DeSantis is more dangerous than Trump, they might hope that Biden seeks him out and hugs him on camera, being all friendly and chummy.

If the Democrats were as assholish as the Republicans, they’d say something like “I bet a lot of those migrants would be happy to work at rebuilding Florida, even if it isn’t their area of expertise, but we’re not letting them come down, since you obviously want them to be up here.”

Just as a point of order, he spent a portion of the $12 million budgeted for undocumented immigrant deportation (looks like around $500K - which is of course a lot, nice to know he’s only got enough budget to do that 23 more times).
ETA - multiple different sources suggest more like $610k.

Sure, and also the migrants were taken from Texas rather than Florida so they weren’t actually moved out of the path of the Hurricane. But since when do we allow pesky facts to get in the way of a good sound bite.

Shortly before the storm hit Colbert suggested that Floridians having trouble getting away tell DeSantis they’re from Venezuela. “Maybe he’ll fly you to Martha’s Vineyard.”
