Firstly, there’s nothing in the 8th amendment that talks about conviction, guilty, or prisoner. As to your second point, we have a [whole thread](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/controversial-encounters-between-law-enforcement-and-civilians-the-omnibus-thread-2/912531) bitching about ugly cops. The Michigan governors race has gone from stupid to hilariously surreal. The latest ad from Tudor Dixon announces that the radical liberal left wants a “Drag Queen” in every classroom. I giggle every time I see it.
